Lower Body Lift
The lower body lift removes excess skin from the lower body circumferentially and is reserved for patients with large amounts of excess skin. It requires a short hospital stay (1 or 2 days) for recovery and performed under general anesthesia.
Lower Body Lift Surgery
Our surgeons will first prepare for your surgery by making extensive markings where the incisions will be made so that we can be sure that they can easily be hidden by clothing (underwear, swimsuit, etc…). The lower body lift is performed in stages since there are several areas of the lower body that are lifted.
Initial Stage of the Lower Body Lift
You will be placed on your side(s) exposing the hip and buttocks area. During this stage all excess skin and fat will be removed from both sides prior to progressing on to the final stage.
Final Stage of the Lower Body Lift
It’s this last stage that is similar to a tummy tuck. You are placed on your back and fat and excess skin is taken from the abdominal/tummy area. The abdominal muscles are tightened and this completes the entire circumference of your lower body area.
After Lower Body Lift Surgery
The surgery is generally the completion of a long process of weight loss for our patients. After you have worked hard to reduce your weight and fat there is always excess skin and some fat that naturally gravitates down to the lower body and is almost impossible to remove without surgery. The lower body lift completes this journey for them offering a re-shaped and re-invigorated new you!
